Check Logical Reading Order

Option 1: Use shift and directional arrows

• For each web page or view:
  • Place cursor at the beginning of the document
  • Double click to select first element
  • Holding SHIFT key, press and hold Down Arrow
  • Visually confirm the reading order of page content

Option 2: Use Web Developer Toolbar

• For each web page or view:
  • Open Web Developer Toolbar
  • In the CSS tab, select “Disable All Styles”
  • Visually confirm the reading order of page content

Option 3: Use a screen reader

• For each web page or view:
  • Place cursor at the beginning of the document
  • Activate Narrator (CTRL+Windows+Enter)
  • Press INSERT+Down Arrow; aurally confirm the reading order of page content

• Content presents out of logical reading order
