The Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) is a document vendors can use to describe the accessibility of their product. VPAT is currently in version 2.5, published in November 2023.

The VPAT is used to prepare a Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR). ACR preparers can provide product accessibility information that documents conformance with numerous accessibility standards, including Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0-2.2 (WCAG), Section 508, and European Standard EN 301 549.

Individuals who routinely evaluate, recommend, or procure technology should obtain an Accessibility Conformance Report from the prospective vendor or developer. When available, this document can also be uploaded in support of a product's technology review process

The Information Technology Industry Council maintains the VPAT and ACR standards. View the ITIC VPAT and ACR information page.

While a VPAT can provide some insight into a product’s accessibility, these documents are created by and for the vendor, and should not be viewed as comprehensive or authoritative.
